Im Happy
I am exceedingly happy right now. Ever since high school I have been looking for a band/orchestra/symphony to play my flute in. Today I learned that I can play in the Lee County Orchestra which practices every Tuesday at the high school right around the corner from my college. I’M SO HAPPY!!!!!
College
I realize that I have not posted anything since October. With the occurrence of the holidays, my grandmother passing, and starting at a college where I have to actually attend class, I have been kind of busy. Now that I am getting into the swing of things i want to post something at least every two weeks.
Lack of Pride
This is something that has been pissing me off since middle school. Do you remember having to say the Pledge of Allegiance before school each day? Do you remember learning the national anthem in elementary school music class? I sure do, but the other day I was asked by my nephew what they were and that the school would not teach them to him (note: he lives in California). SERIOUSLY!!! Has our once proud nation been degraded by sexual and religious immorality that we cant even have the Pledge of Allegiance in schools? Not to mention that the only time I ever hear the national anthem anymore is at sporting events. That’s another thing; I went to see a football game the other day and while they were doing the national anthem I realized that I was the only person in my area the actually KNEW the words. This is absolutely PATHETIC. We have let our forefathers down. This is just some of what has been going on. We can no longer have open prayer in classes. We can no longer say the Pledge of Allegiance in public schools. People want to take the saying “In God We Trust” off our currency. I thought we had freedom of religion. That’s what our country was founded on. But we don’t. Some atheist can say that something is offensive and has the Pledge of Allegiance taken out of our schools simply because it says “One Nation Under GOD.” Which is one sided as hell. I find it offensive that I cant say it and that my children no longer get the opportunity to choose for themselves.
I could continue this rant but my hands are cold. so TO BE CONTINUED…..
sry
Sorry for the long wait, im really busy with life right now so my next post should be next week if all goes well.
Resistance 3 Review
To get started here are some trailers to watch.
I played through the game on the easiest setting so I could enjoy the designs and story line; I the replayed it on the hardest difficulty as to have a challenge.
When I first started up the game it had an almost 700Mb update. OK so they might have missed something, whatever. After the update was done doing its thing I had to install the disc to the HDD as with MGS4.
OK, OK NOW I can start playing 15mins after I had started. I watched the opening video and did the little tutorial. Then I was off to see the wizard or in this case the crazy scientist who lead you through the last 2 games.
So You go as an escort with Dr. Malikov after your wife tells you to (bitch). Here is where I quit with the spoilers for the most part. About 2/3 of the way through the game you finally get to NY and the frozen wasteland that it has become. One of the only problems that I had with the game occurred here. You are walking through town when you get ambushed by a bunch of chimera with rocket launchers, not much of a problem unless you are out of sniper ammunition. I almost always was as it is my favorite weapon. The other problem with this is that the game developers gave you no cover in which to hide and get some shots off. The only cover you get does not have a clear view of the enemy and once you are inside they start bombarding your exit with rockets.Other than that I only had one other problem with the game. Even on the hardest difficulty the bosses presented no challenge, especially after you found the little niches you could hide in and blast away at them.Lastly THERE WAS NO END BOSS. Now I realize this is somewhat of an old tactic to make a game overly hard but when the other bosses were easy please give me a final boss with a challenge. The game then ends with the usual cinematic and credits. Also to save you all 20 mins. There is no extra movie after the credits. Overall in the graphics section I give this game 7/10. The graphics were ok, if you compare them to the others when they started production they would be awesome but compared to what they could be they are just average. For game play I have to give it 6/10 for lack of challenge. If they had just made it harder or gave me a final boss it would have been much better. Story line is 8/10 great continuity but it seemed to lack details and it also seemed to make a clear decision weather there is gonna be a sequel or not. All in all it was a good game. I would however rent or just wait until the price goes down to buy it. *NOTE I did not test the online or co-op game play.
Coming soon – Review – PS3 — Resistance 3
Is resistance futile? apparently not since they have made 3 games.
I just got the new Resistance 3 game for PS3 and will be writing an in depth review.
I Think God is Mad at Japan
Yet another incident of Japan getting raped by the weather.
The landfall of Typhoon 12 (aka Tropical Cyclone Talas) has seen parts of Japan subject to severe flooding, with scenes of inundation reminiscent of the tsunami which devastated Fukushima earlier in the year – although at least this time there was fair warning and only two fatalities so far.
The top of a signpost:
A rather striking picture of a government river monitoring website’s efforts to cope with the water levels:
NHK provides details:
A severe tropical storm is heading north after making landfall on Japan’s southwestern island of Shikoku on Saturday morning.
The Meteorological Agency says tropical storm Talas is moving slowly north over Shikoku.
It has an atmospheric pressure of 982 hectopascals at its center and winds of up to 108 kilometers per hour.
The storm is bringing record heavy rain to western and eastern Japan.
In Kami-kitayama Village, Nara Prefecture, over 115 centimeters of rain has fallen since Tuesday.
Daisen in Tottori Prefecture has recorded more than 80 centimeters of rain and areas along mountains in Shikoku have received 80 centimeters.
Mountainous areas in Tokai and north of the Kanto region had more than 60 centimeters of rain.
Weather officials say the storm will retain strength and keep moving north, and is expected to reach the Sea of Japan coast late on Saturday night.
NHK has learned that Talas left two persons dead, 5 missing, and 47 others injured.
Authorities across the nation issued evacuation orders and advisories for more than 28,000 households, warning against swollen rivers and mudslides.

Reactor Worker Leukemia Death “Nothing To Do With Us!”
The operators of the ruined reactors at Fukushima are under fire for claiming that the recent death of one of their reactor cleanup workers from cancer of the blood had “nothing to do with” his work amidst the radioactive ruins of the plant and that they have “no plans” to investigate it further.
Tepco recently announced the contract worker, in his forties and involved in radiation control work at the plant for a week in early August, died suddenly in the middle of the month from acute leukemia, shortly after finishing work at the plant.
Tepco claims that “according to a doctor’s diagnosis, his work had nothing to do with his cause of death” and states that “we have no plans to undertake any further investigation of his death.”
He was said to be exposed to 0.5 millisieverts of radiation during his work at the plant, 10% of the annual limit.
They say they have no idea what he had been doing before coming to work at the plant, and that they found no sign of the disease when they checked his health prior to sending him to work.
Leukemia normally develops over years rather than days, supporting Tepco’s assertions – although this would instead suggest Tepco sent a cancer sufferer in the terminal stages of the disease to work in a nuclear disaster area.
Japanese doctors have noted a much higher long-term incidence of leukemia amongst plant workers than chance would suggest likely.
Tepco has been criticised both before and during the crisis for using ultra short-term contract workers to undertake maintenance work at the plant, rotating them out of the plant as soon as their radiation exposure reaches legal limits.
Some have claimed this allowed them to maintain much laxer radiation safety standards than would have been the case if they were irradiating their own permanent employees.
Supposedly there have been no deaths directly caused by the events at Fukushima, although a number of indirect deaths (suicides by bankrupted farmers and so on) have been recorded, and the sheer amount of radiation released seems likely to at least cause many life-shortening illnesses.

So apparently radiation does one of two thing. It either causes cancer or cures cancer. I say if he stayed at work he would have at least had a better chance of survival.
quick update
I got the bracket I needed for my carburetor. I will be putting it on tomorrow. Hopefully it works.
The Burb gets an upgrade
For my 21st birthday I received an awesome present; $500 to fix up the Burb. For those of you who don’t know the Burb is my truck. It is a 1986 Chevy suburban that I have had since I was 15. Anyway… So I got the stuff to fix up my truck some. Oil filter/ fluid, transmission filter/fluid, air filter, spark plugs/wires, and a new carburetor. For the last week I have been trying to make this new carb work. Now I am going from an Edelbrock Quadrajet to an Edelbrock 1406. Great, but I also happen to have a 700r4 transmission, not so great. Well after getting everything else ready to finish up I learned today that I need a special bracket for my new carb to be compatible with the hookup for my transmission. This bracket cost about $50 and my remaining sum of the original $500 is $4.37. WHY? On the other hand once I get this all done i should get about 15 mpg compared to the 10 mpg I was getting before hand. If anyone wants to make a donation I would love you forever.LOL.
wow
I just realized that my last restart only lasted 2 days. Well with my friends and I now constantly having engaging conversations and my slight gain of a social life this should hopefully run longer.
SO… Restart and Zombies
I have decided to yet again restart my blog. the first order of business… educate people on zombie survival. This is a paper I wrote a few weeks ago. I did not do as much as I would have liked so if you have any questions post em. I effin love zombies 🙂
Ever since the horror genre began and quite possibly before then there has been an age old question, “How do you survive a zombie apocalypse?” I myself began contemplating this only a few years ago and I believe I can shed some light on the matter.
What Are Zombies?
The first task at hand is to determine what exactly zombies are. According to “Dictionary.com” a zombie is:
- A person whose behavior or responses are wooden, listless, or seemingly remote.
- (In Voodoo) The body of a dead person given the semblance of life but mute and will-less, by a supernatural force, usually for some evil purpose.
- A snake god worshiped in West Indian and Brazilian religious practices of African origin.
Now my own research and understanding of the “pop-culture zombie” is that a zombie is a reanimated corpse or a mutation that causes an excessive need to feed on living humans. For the purpose of this essay we are using the latter of the definitions.
How to kill a zombie.
Killing a zombie is much simpler than you may realize. All you have to do is destroy the brain whether it is through bludgeoning, slicing, shooting, or decapitation. The preferred method is with a melee weapon as it is silent. Guns are also highly effective but cost precious ammunition.
Weapons.
Guns
Most of the time when people think about how to kill, or in this case re-kill, something; the first thing they picture are guns. Guns are great but they have several limiting factors that take them out of being a main weapon. First, they are loud. If you were on a scouting trip and you saw a zombie and shot him in the head it would accomplish 3 things. It would first kill the zombie. Secondly I would cost you a round of ammunition that you could have saved. Lastly you just alerted every zombie within a mile where you are. One of the other limiting factors of guns is the ammunition. It is limited and you really can’t make any yourself. Lastly guns simply break. It is really hard to fix a gun when surrounded by a horde of ravenous blood thirsty zombies.
Blades
Blades are one of my favorite weapons. They have been around for thousands of years and are incredibly simple. A blade is essentially anything that is sharp. The most common types of blades are knives and swords. Blades are the preferred method for killing zombies. They are quick efficient, and don’t use ammunition. If you need to sharpen one you can just use a brick or a fine stone off the ground. It won’t be the sharpest blade ever but it will get the job done.
However within the blade category there are some things that you want to avoid. First of all are combat knives, the ones with the serrations on the back. These are great survival knives but not great zombie killing knives. The reason is because of the serrations. Although they are good for cutting wood they have a tendency to get stuck on bones and the last thing you want is for your knife to get stuck in a zombies head leaving you weaponless. The second things you want to avoid with blades are those display cased battle axes and swords (You want to avoid ANY battle axe.). I know they look cool and shiny but you must resist the temptation to use them. Display blades are cheap and they are made out of stainless steel. Stainless steel is shiny and rust resistant but it is not very strong or durable. As far as battle axes are concerned, just don’t use them at all. I know you want to go all Warcraft on the zombies but battle axes have drawbacks that would get you killed. If you ever find a real one you’ll notice that they are extremely heavy. They are also very long which makes them slow. All in all they just are suited for zombie killing.
When looking for a good bade there are a few certain details to look for. Most of the time if it is shiny it is made out of stainless steel. You don’t want that because it is weak. You want something made out of either 440 steel (knives) or high carbon steel (swords). The best way to tell the difference for swords is the weight. A good solid sword should weigh about four pounds. The equivalent made out of stainless steel would way about two pounds. There are some exceptions to this however. Machetes, for example, are very good durable blades they are also light.
Ranged
Ranged weapons (i.e. bows or spears) (Not Guns.) are very useful in any survival situation. You can injure or kill your enemy before they get anywhere near you. The other benefit of most ranged weapons is that they are silent and the one that use ammunition is re-usable. There are some very important things to consider for a ranged weapon. First what materials do you have? What is the expected range of use? How well trained in that weapon are you? These are all important to consider as they will help you decide which type of weapon to make or scavenge.
If you don’t have many supplies then your best bet would be to make a simple spear. Basically you find a heavy stick anywhere from 4ft. to 6ft. and make it pointy. The downside to spears is that they are gone once you throw them and their effective range is only about 20ft. If you have more supplies and time you should make a bow. In a post-apocalyptic world the easiest way to make a bow would be to find some PVC pipe (that white tubing you see at the hardware store). You want a piece that is about 5ft. long. You will then make a notch about half an inch deep on both ends. You then need to find some heavy cord (i.e. 550 cord) and tie it at both ends so that the PVC has a bow in it. Then you can find some straight sticks of wooden dowels notch them at one end and make a point at the other. Tada a rudimentary bow; this gives an effective range of 20ft. to 200ft. + depending on your accuracy.
Vehicles.
Vehicles are yet another one of the items people really don’t think about. When there are no longer maintained roads or service stations you have to be careful of which vehicle you choose. SUV’s are big and use lots of gas so unless you and your group of people are using one vehicle or transporting a lot of supplies, they are not recommended. Cars are small and fuel efficient. I restate; they are small so even if they get great mpg’s you aren’t going to be able to run over a zombie and not get stuck. The best choice would be motorcycles, preferably dirt bikes or induros (dirt bike with head lights). They get an average of 50-70 miles per gallon and are small enough to go through trees. They also have the ability to drive over almost anything. Other than vehicles you best choice would be a horse, bicycle, or your feet since they don’t use gas and are silent.
Clothing.
Clothing is something you should always think about when you get a chance. It can determine many things; whether you are agile, armored, or just look good. Plate/chain mail (knight armor) is really durable and will protect you from any zombie that thinks you look tasty. Consider this though; you get surrounded and get knocked over in your plate armor, you just became a can of food waiting to be opened because you can’t get back up. Regular street clothes; they don’t provide much protection even if they do make you look good. The best thing to wear would be leather. It is highly bite resistant, fairly easy to come by, and best of all makes anyone look really cool.
There are many things that need to be analyzed during a zombie apocalypse. Weapons, vehicles, and clothing are just a few but they will make a significant difference between surviving and becoming a chew toy for the living dead. The most important thing to remember is to think about your choices and plan ahead.
Christmas songs
i LOVE Christmas, but more than the holiday itself i like the music. here lately i have noticed that all of the classic song are disappearing and unfortunately getting screwed up by contemporary “artists”. i just wanted to know what happened and why. BTW my favorite is Bing Crosby.
give me you opinion.
life
so i have not been on in almost a year.
recently some stuff in my life has happened and i decided im going to start this site back up.
HEAVY RAIN……..
Heavy rain is a murder mystery/noir thriller game for the Sony Play Station 3. i got this game on tuesday and have not stopped playing it since, or at least until i beat it a few minutes ago. it was a very intriguing ever since i saw the first trailer a few months ago. although i did not expect it to be as good as it was. i give the graphics a 9.5/10 for realism the only thing they could have improved on were the graphics for injuries and peoples facial expressions while yelling. as for the music i give it a 10/10. they did a very good job composing a score which captured the mood of the current actions of the game and characters. game play i have to split into two categories. if your a hardcore gamer you will have trouble with the simplicity of this game at first, but if your new to gaming dont hesitate to buy this game, the controls are basically action sequences(in other words when the button pops up on the screen you push the corresponding button on the controller.). so for easiness of game play i give it a 7/10 compared to other games, i give it a 9/10 for action sequence games. never before have i seen a game incorporate the playstations six-axis controller so well. in this game not only do you have to push the button (and at varying rates.) but you also have to use the right stick in certain motions at different speeds and you have to tilt the controller different ways and often times repeatedly. even for a gamer like my self it was unexpected most times. for the story line this game definitely deserves a 10/10. not only did it have me guessing the whole time(which is hard. usually i can guess the ending before halfway.) but depending on your actions the story can change. which means i have another few playthroughs before i get all the endings.overall i have to give this game a 9.75/10. well worth the buy for any gamers new or old, as long as you are old enough to play rated (M) games.which means you have to be 17 or older. also recommended to be 18+ this game was rated(M) because of blood, intense violence, nudity, sexual content, strong language, and use of drugs. i believe this game barely made it onto the market for that reason. anyway i hope this helps in your decision making of the game, and remember if you need help just message me.
let it snow, let it snow, let it ice pebbles?
What can I say but it “snowed” here in Fayetteville on Fri. night. Well… I guess snow isn’t the right word considering it was the consistency of a premade snow cone. I call it snow pebbles. If there is one thing wrong about Fayetteville it’s the weather. We are about an hour south of Raleigh North Carolina and the one thing it almost never does here is snow, and when it does, it does it the wrong way. I.e. snow pebbles. I personally think there is a curse on Fayetteville. If you go to the city border you will see snow on the other side but not on the city side.lol. Anyway it snowed this weekend. The next day it decided to heat back up a little and turned everything to ice. Yay ice. Well I live on a cul-de-sac. Which was completely iced over. Luckily one of my friends, josh, was staying over. So we found an old clothes basket with a rounded bottom and threw each other around on the ice. After that we let out one of my dogs, her name is toes, and called her between the two of us and watched her slip around on the ice. The next day “today” the 1st of Feb. most everything has melted except for stuff in the shadows which is now even harder ice. Well… I work at night and at an apartment complex. This apartment complex has a hill behind the apartments and so I was sliding down the hill. It was fun. But my supervisor saw me and said “Why are you the only one working that’s able to have fun in weather like this?” idk. I just do. According to the forecast it is supposed to snow next weekend and the weekend after that also. “I can only hope!”
M.A.G.
Mag is a brand new ps3 game i want to spend a few moments talking about.the game came out yesterday on the 26. i have not gotten a chance to play the game as i am waiting for a friend and myself to come to a decision on which faction we want to join.now for some explanation. mag is a fps (first person shooter) game. in which each team is comprised of 128 people fighting 128 people of another faction.and for once in the game your rank is actually your rank. in other words the game command structure is set up like the actual military in which if you are an officer you can tell the enlisted what to do. the only problem i see with this game is the faction system. you have your choice of three factions. valor, sver, and raven each with their differences. but the problem is once you choose your stuck. although after some research there are some rumors that once you max out your character in one of the three you will be allowed to make another character in one of the other. i hope this helps in making any decisions to get the game and if you need a friend just send an invite to benymol.
ahhhhh!
well. this is a crucial point in my life so i thought i would experiment with a blog.
today my transmission went out on my 1986 chevy suburban.aka. “the Burb”. about an hour after i purchased my friends $300 netbook, and of all time it happened on my way to work. which by the way i am a security guard.i love my life. although i have to say this is a very nice netbook.
